Glaucoma

Open-Angle Glaucoma

  • The angle where the iris meets the cornea are as wide and open as should be, but the trabecular meshwork is partially blocked causing pressure to increase
  • Develops slowly; symptoms and damage are usually not noticed
  • Accounts for about 90% of all glaucoma cases
  • Glaucoma

    Closed-Angle Glaucoma

  • Angle between the iris and cornea closes resulting in a rise of intraocular pressure
  • Develops very quickly; requiring immediate medical attention
  • Symptoms and damage are usually very noticeable
  • Glaucoma

    UNMET NEEDS

Patients with glaucoma currently continue to suffer from these unmet needs.

Adtech’s science and technology look to change this.

    Improved Compliance

Long-acting delivery system would eliminate issue of poor patient compliance with topical glaucoma medications and avoid wash-out effects with multiple drops. Preservative free formulations are preferred.

More Effective 1st and 2nd Line Medications

Most patients progress to 2L and 3L medications, or drug rotation due to inability of 1L medication to maintain IOP at target level or because of disease progression.

    Neuroprotection

Neuroprotective treatments demonstrating prevention / restoration of vision loss would address the greatest unmet need
